The heater control valve or water control valve controls the flow of engine coolant to the heater core which allows coolant to pass from the engine through the car heater to regulate the temperature of the heat coming out of the vents which provides warmth in the cabin. If you notice a serious coolant leak, heater doesn’t work or erratic heater behavior, your heater control valve may not be properly working.
